Private Pay Therapy
Private pay therapy means that we collect full session payment directly from you the same day we meet. We have consciously chosen this structure for services as private pay therapy allows for increased confidentiality as well as flexibility in our work together.
If you would like to seek insurance reimbursement, you can apply for out of network coverage directly with your insurance company and we will provide you a monthly superbill with the necessary information on it. There are no guarantees insurance will provide any coverage; additional information about how to understand your specific coverage is below.
Session fees are accepted via cash, check, HSA/FSA, and credit card. We also offer a limited number of slots with a financial hardship rate; please inquire for details.
The No Surprises Act applies to mental health services. If you’d like an estimate of the cost of services, please reach out.
Session fees are the same for virtual and in person.
Session Rates
Initial consult
$0 | 15 minutes
Consult calls are for new clients who would like to connect first to see if we’re a good fit for the work you’d like to do. These are typically best suited for people who have questions before starting, are considering various therapists to see who would be the best fit for them, or for those not yet sure they’d like to engage in therapy. Consult calls are available virtually or via phone only.
Intake session
$250 | 60 minutes
In our first session, we will get started with where you are at right now and what you would like to accomplish in therapy. We can go as quickly or slowly as you need and you can expect to share about yourself while also learning about your therapist and the therapy process.
Individual session
$175 | 50 minutes
$260 | 90 minutes
Individual sessions are those held one on one with a single client and the therapist. We typically schedule sessions weekly or biweekly with clients. Therapy continues as long as you are finding it beneficial and your therapist feels they are able to meet your needs.
Relational session
$190 | 50 minutes
$280 | 90 minutes
$200/hr | Intensives
Relational sessions are those that are used to address a relationship or issue between 2 or more people present in the therapy space. This can be a couple, a household, or any number of members of a family. When we meet for the intake, we can decide together who therapy will generally include, but if there is another person you’d like to bring into session, please let your therapist know and we can create a plan together. Sessions held with caregivers for minors are also considered relational sessions.
Please note that regardless of type of session or form of payment, all people present for a session must be physically located in Minnesota at the time of meeting due to state laws and therapist licensing.

Do I need prior authorization?
Do I need approval from my primary care provider?
How is reimbursement provided to me?
