Clinical Supervision
for mental health providers pursuing independent licensure in Minnesota
Melissa is a board approved supervisor by the Minnesota Boards of Marriage and Family Therapy & Behavioral Health and Therapy to provide supervision for providers seeking licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LPCC.
I view my role as a supervisor as someone who is a:
Guide in learning
Partner in accountability
Safe space to fall and be vulnerable
Place of containment and predictability
Director to resources
Promoter of cultural humility
Cheerleader providing encouragement
All supervision spaces are overtly welcoming to and affirming of folks from all backgrounds, including BIPOC, LGBTQIA2+, and neurodivergent folks. Case consultations include considerations of culture and systemic impacts on clients and providers.
I intend to support and encourage my supervisees to think critically and independently with a solid foundation of clinical knowledge from which to draw and a strong intuition upon which they can rely when sitting with clients. My personal experience with receiving supervision outside of my workplace was incredibly valuable and I hope to provide this same opportunity & high value supervision to all supervisees.
Forms of supervision
Each supervision session is adapted to the folks present, aiming to meet the individual needs of the supervisee.
Supervision sessions typically explore legal/ethical/safety issues, case consultation, self of therapist, career development, and community building within the group.
This space centers values of inclusivity, community, humility, repair, and learning from each other.
