Professional Consultation

Consultation between professionals is one of the best ways to grow and sustain our practices.
It helps us become better therapists and professionals — and if we’re lucky, better humans.

consultation with melissa

  • one on one

I provide consultation to other individuals working in or with the mental health field on an as needed basis. While I am always open to discussion around what you might want to get from consultation, some topics that may be a fit for consultation with me would include:
    -building a private practice
    -boundary setting and enforcement
    -letter writing and documentation
    -specific case consultation
-generally working with clients in my speciality areas
    -burnout & compassion fatigue

Consultation is offered both virtually and in person and can be in any 30 minute increment.

  • private pay practice group

Once a month, we gather as a group to discuss the business side of owning and running a private pay practice. This space is held as community for independently licensed therapists to share ideas, get feedback, and learn from each other about ways to successfully build and run an individual therapy practice.

Primarily, we meet virtually and try to do at least one in person consultation per quarter. While monthly attendance is not mandatory, we do ask that participants are regularly engaged with the group throughout their time meeting with us.

  • post hours, new therapist group

Together with Tessa Gittleman, LMFT, we hold a monthly drop in consultation group for clinicians who are wrapping up their licensure hours or are newly licensed to discuss cases, self of therapist, and career development. Our goal is to offer a supportive space for folks who are finished with supervision and are looking for a facilitated space to consult with other therapists in a similar stage of career.

Sessions are held virtually and open to any licensure. Reserve your spot by reaching out via email to info@groundingspacetherapy.com or info@tessagittleman.com . All proceeds generated from the group are donated to the Liberation Scholarship fund at Minnesota Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
